“A crew is a group that is in it all the time, no matter what, that is stroking together every minute with the same purpose, that is willing to sacrifice silently for each other, that gives grace, that holds accountable.”
“A crew has the same cares and the same needs, and a crew is inescapably, beautifully, dutifully linked.”

Matt
Matt grew up on the water in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and has always felt at home outdoors. He is thrilled to be taking on the challenge of long-term sailing and has fully embraced the steep learning curve that comes with it. A lifelong learner and determined problem solver, he has immersed himself in learning as much as possible to begin this journey. From navigation and boat maintenance to route planning, onboard systems, and the best dive spots, he is all in. He is especially excited to return to his passion for diving and bring the whole family along.
Rachel
Rachel is a Professor and cancer prevention scientist who has spent her career helping communities design healthier futures. She is taking a year to dial down the fast pace of academic life to focus more on her own health and build family memories. She is excited to trade schedules and deadlines for sunrises and open water swims, and to experience the world one harbor, one passage, one anchorage at a time.
Henry
Henry just graduated from 8th grade and is excited about his upcoming boat-school electives: scuba diving and fishing. We were fortunate to find the perfect boat for our family, equipped with a dive compressor and everything we need for fishing. He's also bringing a few golf clubs and plans to join the Grenada Golf Club for the summer, and hopes to join or host some Dungeons & Dragons campaign or Magic The Gathering game days. He's looking forward to meeting new friends and making the most of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Grace
Grace just finished fourth grade and can't wait to start her sailing adventure. She wasn't going to do this adventure without our dog, Cocoa, and is especially excited to decorate the cozy cabin they'll share together. Grace loves swimming and has been practicing scuba diving in our pool. She also loves animals and hopes to find a few horses to ride in the Caribbean. She's excited to make new friends, start book clubs, SUP, and see as many animals as possible along the way.
Cocoa
Cocoa is a 5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. She is looking forward to a year of studying shore birds, exploring remote islands, and catching fresh fish for dinner.
